 We are the resident proprietors Rob & Susan D'Arney, Adele D'Arney & Sheree Betteridge (aka Mel!)   Following the success of Rob and Susan's first hotel, and the input that Sheree and I contributed to it, we all felt ready to embark on this new group venture to a larger hotel. After many months of searching we found Wood Lodge, and fell in love immediately with the individuality and beauty of the hotel. As a team we provide experience, creativity, and a combined dedication to ensure that our hotel equips you with an ideal base for your visit. We have lived in the area for most of our lives, so to supplement the information brochures available to you in our reception, please feel free to ask us anything you need to know, and we can recommend our own personal highlights of places to visit. We're very friendly and down to earth, and simply want you to have the best possible time whilst you're here, so if we can enhance your stay in any way, just let us know, and we will always do our best to help as soon as we can. We've been here now for just over six years, and though it has been a lot of hard work, we have loved providing a lovely place for our guests to stay. We've had guests return who have been patrons of Wood Lodge for 30 years, who have loved it here as much as they've always done (and sometimes more!), which is so lovely to hear. We couldn't have wished for better guests, both those that have been coming for many years, and the new guests who have found us more recently. We've so enjoyed meeting you all, and hope to have more free time as we go on to get to know you all better! We already have many repeat bookings for this year, and some couples are on their 19th or 20th return here already! It is, we must admit, a huge relief to know we are keeping our guests so very happy (and well fed!) and look forward to continuing to do so. |
